Municipal and Public Facilities Master Plan
New Canaan is faced with needed improvements to many of the town's public facilities, including Town Hall, the library, the fire station and other municipal buildings. To address these issues, the Town of New Canaan's Long Range Planning Committee (LRPC) prepared a long-term Master Plan for the Town's facilities. The Master Plan is a blueprint for the improvements required for each facility and provides an understanding of the impacts and consequences of plan recommendations.

The LRPC, with assistance from their consultants, Perkins Eastman and BFJ Planning, completed Phase 2 of the study in March 2012. Phase 2 included the following tasks:

- Analysis of program requirements
- Alternative options for existing facilities
- Public Workshop to evaluate alternatives
- Impact analysis and recommendations
- Draft Plan
- A Public Forum on the Draft Plan
- Final Plan
- Executive Summary
On March 20, 2012, the LRPC submitted and presented the Master Plan to the New Canaan Board of Selectmen. A copy of the Master Plan can be found in the Plan Progress section.
